Architected a comprehensive, modern design system- named Pallet- for designers and developers across The Home Depot Enterprise User Experience (EUX).

There was a known need for a consolidated design and development component library when I joined The Home Depot EUX Design Operations in 2018. Designers and developers were using fragmented pieces of previous work. The lack of a cohesive experience was clear in the friction felt by product teams, designers, and users.

Along with a skeleton crew of one other designer and one engineer, I shaped the component library, visual language, interaction pattern library, design principles, accessibility guidelines, and content guidelines for Pallet. I integrated official Home Depot brand standards to drive consistency and promote brand presence. Pallet was the first resource offered internally to use design tokens to unite design and engineering in a common language.

The result was an unprecedented library of 25 atomic components, robust documentation, and internal resources for designers and developers at The Home Depot. The design library was built in Sketch and Azure. The coded JavaScript components were built using the Web Components model to maximize portability and framework compatibility.

Galaxy Platform UI concepts and designs. While working as a backend engineer on the Galaxy Platform infrastructure in 2022 (internal to The Home Depot), I had the opportunity to also contribute as a designer and drive the direction of the user interface strategy. The Galaxy Platform pulled together many experiences and interactions previously distributed across various links, forms, and digital locations.

The interface needed to be incredibly modular to accommodate the broad needs of both platform partners and end users. The design had to balance the inherently highly-technical nature of the material while maintaining an improved experience for potentially non-technical users.

Introducing a “block-stacking” design philosophy yielded a highly configurable, easily navigable, and consistent experience for stakeholders and users.

This business card was designed as part of several print collateral concepts for the 2016 Design Farm rebrand effort. It prominently features the new 2016 Design Farm logo.

Another designer and myself were tasked with carrying out a full rebrand of the creative services division of Infinity Software Development, Inc.- Design Farm. We wanted to maintain the "hand hewn" ideology integral to the previous brand while making it feel more modern and indicative of the digital services offered. The effort included a new mark, logo, and visual asset guidelines.

Strangely enough, they didn't go for the logo in the last image. I thought it would have looked great airbrushed on the hood of an IROC-Z Camaro.

Designing and developing a new website for Design Farm was a late addition to the 2016 rebrand process. This was a concept I created to showcase a new, more modern design direction versus the traditional design the site featured previously.  

This was a designed I created while working with UNC Creative at UNC Chapel Hill. The Renaissance Computing Institute (Renci) approached us about a rebrand and a creating a concept for a new website. They wanted to maintain a professionalism and simplicity while not sacrificing the core modernity they embrace with their research. 

Various web page redesign concepts for the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office (FSLSO). The 'publications' page previously housed each piece of content on a separate and linked page, which I suggested collating onto a single page as is shown expanded as in the bottom mockup.

Quarterly report redesign for the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office. The report was previously distributed as a complex and difficult to follow spreadsheet. The client wanted the final product to have an "infographic" aesthetic, which was ultimately balanced with various highly stylized data tables to present the content in an effective and visually pleasing manner. 

I designed, developed, and fully migrated a fully-responsive Wordpress website for a Tallahassee-based company that produces boat manufacturing software. I also assumed all project management roles and saw the project from kick-off to completion. The client had a very straight-forward idea for what they wanted from the site and I was able to complete is on a very minimal timeline. The site is viewable at boat-track.com.

This piece was created in conjunction with the Business Development team at Infinity Software Development, Inc. as a leave behind document when out on potential client visits. 

I assisted the lead designer in the creation of the main, front-facing website for Infinity Software Development, Inc. and was solely responsible for developing it into a live Wordpress website. The website is live at www.infinity-software.com and is still regularly used as a tool to promote the company. 

A print invitation I designed to be sent out for the Infinity Software Development 2016 Holiday Party. 

Two logo variants I created for a small catering business located in High Point, NC. 

This was a poster I created for a charity event in Blowing Rock, NC supporting the Girls on the Run of the High Country. The annual event raises money and increases local support for the excellent organization.  

This is an example of a series of documents I designed for PharPoint Research Inc. to promote their specialty contract research organization (CRO) services to potential clients. These were designed knowing there would be eight documents covering each main therapeutic area PharPoint has participated with research in. Certain content was consistent across all documents, but the center section was an opportunity for unique creativity with each area. 

I designed this remittance form as part of a much larger document called Biorhythms distributed by the UNC School of Public Health. I was provided an older form created in Word and asked to incorporate the styles of the rest of the document.  

Various examples of vector art I've worked on in Adobe Illustrator. I start with a physical sketch and import to vector out the lines and layers by hand. 

I'm currently experimenting and playing around with pixel art and animation. This is a simple idle loop animation I created of a character from the Yacht Club Games title Shovel Knight. I generated all four frames of animation pixel by pixel and looped it.
